It was my last duty to push the vessel on the calm water. As soon as the keel touched the waves, I was no longer a servant. I whispered my final words of goodbye, though I was well aware of that you would not hear them anymore.

I stood at the shore, watching the watercraft riding slowly on the lazy waves, and my heart was as heavy as it had never been before. As I rested my eyes on the sky-blue water, I understood that I was bound to spend forever in this bitter freedom. Because I will never die.
A 100 words drabble; I am not very good at this genre, so I need a little bit of practice from time to time.

A crossover-wannabe thing, anyway. In February, when I learnt that Colin Morgan was going to play Ariel in Shakespeare's The Tempest, I immediately thought that omg, this role is a perfect one for him after Merlin, there are so many similarities between these two characters (I mean, according to my image of Ariel). I wanted to write something to show that it's possible to give the exact same finale to the two stories; the scene when Merlin buries Arthur can be a kind of parallel to Ariel's farewell to Prospero when he leaves the island.

Anyway, in the end, Colin played a completely different Ariel than I'd expected, which had absolutely nothing to do with Merlin's character. A good actor is a good actor; it's great to see that he's so versatile.
